Everything Under The Sun (Graveyards) – Poem

Trigger warning: mature content: suicide, sexual assault.

I write about people I’ve never met,

and hearts that have yet to break.

about countries I will one day venture and

the places I will settle:

in the mountains, or maybe near the ocean…

I write my fears,

deep desires,

and everything under the sun…

I write about the angels I speak through when

alone,

and the way my heart screams

“jump”

as if intuition knows

I was never meant to be…

I write assault beside self harm so one day

I’ll trick my brain into believing

I was in control…

It’s a lot less scary.

I write flashbacks,

call them day dreams

just for sake of sanity…

My words are graveyards of the past,

and though some may have overgrown grass,

skeletons remain.

I write my fears,

deep desires

and everything under the sun…

But there are some things I will never write.
